Confirmation statement due date: how to find yours
Your confirmation statement due date is up to 14 days after the end of your review period. Every company must file at least one confirmation statement every 12 months, even if nothing has changed.
The quickest way to see yours is the Companies House register. Search for the company, open its page, and read "Next statement date" and "due by".
For example, a statement date of 4 January means the statement is due by 18 January, 14 days later.
This page covers the confirmation statement and, further down, the other Companies House filing deadline: accounts. For identity verification, which now sits on the statement, see Companies House ID verification.
How the dates work
The review period ends 12 months after the incorporation date, for your first statement, or 12 months after the confirmation statement date on your last statement.
You can file up to 14 days after the review period has ended. That is the filing deadline.
You do not have to wait. If you file early, you must choose a new confirmation statement date, and your next review period starts the day after it.
A confirmation statement confirms that the information Companies House holds about your company is up to date. Dormant and non-trading companies must file too.
What is on the statement now
For each director you now give a Companies House personal code, and confirm that the director has verified their identity.
GOV.UK says Companies House will not accept your company's confirmation statement until all directors have verified their identity. So a director who has not verified can hold up the filing.
If a person is both a director and a PSC of the same company, the PSC code has its own 14-day period, which starts the day after the confirmation statement date.
The other deadline: accounts
Companies House accounts have their own date, separate from the confirmation statement.
For a private company, later accounts are due 9 months from the accounting reference date.
The first accounts, if they cover more than 12 months, are due within 21 months of incorporation, or 3 months from the accounting reference date if that is longer.
The register page shows the accounts date too, as "Next accounts made up to" and "due by".
The Corporation Tax payment and return have different dates again. See Corporation Tax due date.
If you are late
GOV.UK says that if you do not file, you can be fined up to £5,000 and your company may be struck off.
Late accounts get a penalty for a private company: £150 up to 1 month late, £375 up to 3 months, £750 up to 6 months and £1,500 after that. You can ask for more time if an unplanned event stops you filing, but only before the deadline.
The online fee for a confirmation statement was £50 when GOV.UK last updated its page, on 21 April 2026.
How Kofolio counts it down
Each Kofolio company card shows the confirmation statement date and the accounts date from Companies House, counted down in days, next to the company's other deadlines. See the deadlines page.
Next to each date the card shows what happens if it is missed, copied from GOV.UK, such as "up to £5,000" for a late confirmation statement.
To see all of a company's dates before you add it, type it into the free company deadlines tool.
You can subscribe to a calendar link in Google, Apple or Outlook calendar. You can also turn on reminder emails in Settings.
Kofolio files nothing for you, including the confirmation statement. The dates are reminders, not advice, and you stay responsible for your filings.
