Company deadlines checker

Type a company name or number. You get every date for that company in one list: when its accounts are due, when its confirmation statement is due, when Corporation Tax is due to be paid and when the CT600 return is due. Late ones are marked.

Searches the Companies House register.

How the dates are worked out

Companies House publishes the next accounts date and the next confirmation statement date for every UK company. We show those as they are on the register.

Corporation Tax is not on the register, so it is calculated from the accounting period end: payment 9 months and 1 day after it, and the CT600 return 12 months after it. This assumes the company is not a large company paying in quarterly instalments, which have their own dates.

Questions people ask

Where do these dates come from?

The accounts and confirmation statement dates are the ones Companies House shows on the public register for that company. The Corporation Tax payment and CT600 return dates are worked out from the accounting period end: payment is 9 months and 1 day after it, and the return is due 12 months after it.

What happens if I miss a Companies House deadline?

Late accounts get an automatic civil penalty from Companies House, starting at £150 for a private company that is up to one month late and rising with the delay. A late confirmation statement can lead to the company being struck off the register. The penalty table is on gov.uk.

Why is the Corporation Tax payment before the tax return?

They are separate deadlines. The Corporation Tax bill is due 9 months and 1 day after the accounting period ends. The CT600 return is not due until 12 months after it ends. Paying late means HMRC charges interest, even if the return is not yet due.

Does this show my VAT or PAYE dates?

No. Those depend on your own VAT periods and how you pay PAYE, which no public register holds. Kofolio works them out once you tell it, on the company card.

Is the register date always right?

It is the date Companies House holds today. If a company shortens or extends its accounting period, or files early, the date changes. The tool reads the register each time you search, so it is as current as Companies House is.
